principal of Chandler Elementary the phenomenal professionals and students make Chandler a great place to be where more than just a bill we are thinking Community where students come first we are here to be our best everyday so come on in and let's see what's happening inside location is team activities are you getting bigger are you getting smaller I decided that you wanted Antonio got the 30 so did you pass them out good job. Each method we do lots of group work Community work sharing out and lots of I swear they just communicate with each other and then I come in at the end to make sure they have it right I love being a new teacher at Chandler I have had the love and support from my peers and the administrators to incorporate games and movement into my lesson they have really pushed me to be thinking outside the box like in a book first you would find out what the characters are and then you would say Mizzou language program we have students that are native Spanish speakers and we have students that are native English speakers any human okay but where are they going to end up we're starting at the end we're going backwards the idea is that they are going to teach each other for the language while learning in Spanish or English in the different content areas as the G my teacher my goal is to not only challenge the students current abilities but also put them into a new realm of understanding I try to do this through project-based learning and stem we have transformed learning with the breakout boxes and stem activities students are using the three C's critical thinking collaboration creativity and a communication to practice very skills classroom Wii user my sister name take me to the breakout boxes students must work together to crack the code and unlock the boxes within a certain timeframe throughout this year I've seen a big change in the studio ability to work as a team to achieve a goal the music program at Chandler is not only fun but is enriching the lives of our students they get a variety of opportunities through performance is playing instruments and different activities that teach them how to read write and gain an appreciation for music My Favorite Things every week it's aligned about their composer of the month when we do listening activities I have class discussions about a variety of composers and if you want to see future Broadway great for students learn how to work together be creative and get outside their comfort zone to perform in front of a live audience My ultimate goal is for students to love music so much that when I leave Chandler they are inspired to continue the music education in the future I'd like to know every day of the week for 30 minutes and would that we have tried to dress more Health lessons and more academic movement lesson because it's a time to see the kids and teach him some fun things that also Implement some class work in a movement sort of way Chandler there's a feeling of camaraderie as we create and share our engaging activities together as a group and if a team teachers collaborating and sharing ideas break down our standards and become expert in our fields in our subject Premiere with it we can just dive in and can I review it and then really get into the hard as teaching the errors in thinking and you can play and they bring their own ideas share so everyone is involved all ideas are embraced it's just a time to grow things to the Education Foundation for KI Sian PTA we are creating a Makerspace here at Chandler and a Makerspace is really a place for kids to get together and collaboratively work where they're creating building in a place that's safe and creative we have programs that address academics drinks as well as bringing the community in and then others to help students learn to give by the UIL competition tryout and anchors trap for something that they believe they're strong at in their place on a team and then we compete against other schools River student council members that are always looking for opportunities to community and then get back to their school Community as well it is help me by serving others and has given me a great big leadership roles by being president and as also helps me by knowing other students better we like to celebrate difference pictures we have the Hispanic heritage celebration black history celebration and then we introduce students to other cultural events and places we have the host program that is community members come in and raid with hospice and all year long that is been very successful and not just helping students learn how to read but giving them the feeling that someone else outside of their home and school cares about them volunteer volunteered and did it for a couple of years really enjoyed it Patrol let them the numbers on the PAW Patrol where they stand outside and greet students every morning they have the parents students have really enjoyed that we have a great PTA partnership as well they support everything we're doing inside the school and they celebrate teachers as well Road make sure that our students get a lot of experiences outside of school or we take small field trip we have gone to the this year to music to the all music third graders went to the Fish Hatchery they've been to the zoo the second graders we just like to make sure that they're well-rounded individuals when they leave Chandler we also have our house celebration that also I'm too experienced outside of their classroom grade level where they all get together as a house we've had a dance party they have gone to the movies with have we've also been rented a spring where the students watch the movie their reward in their incentive is to earn points for their houses at the end of the year I'm going to tally up all the points for the year and we will have one house have their name on the large trophy or so they're really excited about that and I absolutely love Chandler cuz I feel like we have so much school spirit feel like we're always transforming to do whatever is in our students best interest I really love how we've gone to run start this year and tcta and we're just doing whatever we can to do what's best for these kids all students have fun to take responsibility for their own how the teachers get involved a dress up there willing to do the swivel videos they're willing to share their teaching techniques so we do you have a very of family culture it's more than that it's just doing whatever we can to help each other along with the student. faculty and staff members have worked hard all year to motivate and celebrate student by making The Learning Experience enjoyable
